An edited Victorian
An edit of the living room and foyer in a Victorian home in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, for an executive couple and their teenage son. They already owned art and furniture they loved. I worked out where each piece belonged and added only what the rooms were missing.

Where it started
Over the years, furniture, art, and objects had arrived from different homes and different stages of life. Each piece mattered on its own. Side by side, they didn’t read as one room, and the living room and foyer felt unplanned. The family couldn't tell what should stay, what should move, and what should go. They didn’t want to renovate or replace things, and they didn’t want to lose the character of the house.
What I did
I started from what they already loved.
Assessed: both rooms and everything in them, piece by piece.
Edited: I took out the pieces that crowded the rooms or pulled focus from their best features, and moved art and objects to walls where they could be seen properly.
Selected new: a small number of pieces, chosen for scale and balance where the rooms needed them.
Styled: both spaces, with a few accessories borrowed from elsewhere in the house to tie the living room and foyer together.
How it lives now
Each piece of art has room to be seen now. The rooms feel complete without feeling crowded, and the living room and foyer read as one home. Most of what's there was already in the house.
